INFORMATION FOR THE EVENING OF THE CEREMONY

It is an evening ceremony that will go until the morning. Usually we have people arrive and get settled in around 8pm then we begin around 10pm. Everyone will have a different process but usually by 4am people are resting or sleeping, although that all depends on the person, could be before that. Then he will officially energetically close the circle around 6am and we will share food, continue resting, share our processes with each other if people feel they would like to. I say by 10am most people are ready to leave. Some people may leave before, but I think it’s always good to ground in and make sure you feel ready before heading out into other energies.

RECOMMENDATIONS

1.) Prepare the mind and body before, during, and after the ceremony.

2.) Follow a healthy whole foods plant based diet, then the week before avoid spicy foods, processed foods, onion, garlic, dairy, pork, red meat, and fermented foods. A couple days before and day of, avoid a lot of citrus. The cleaner you eat the less work the medicine has to do to clear that part of the physical level. We really are what we eat and that is the vibration we will be bringing to meet the medicine.

3.) A lot of written material or information about our medicine on internet can be confused. Avoid to go through these.

4.) Abstain from sexual activity two days before and two days after.

5.) Avoid alcohol consumption two days before and two days after.

6.) Avoid the use of psychoactive substances 4 days before and after.

7.) Have a clear, peaceful proposal or intention and good thoughts.

8.) Respect the introduction and recommendations of the person in charge of the ceremony. Don’t bring weapons.

9.) Following our tradition, for the women on their sacred moon (menstrual period), it is asked that you abstain from participating in the ceremony because during this time you are in your own natural ceremony.

10.) It is suggested (optional) that the women wear long skirts for comfort and connecting to the earth.

11.) Bring clothing, blankets, sleeping bag or mat that helps you to be warm and comfortable throughout the night.

12.) Bring fruit or light snacks to share in the morning. Organic please.

ABOUT FOOD AND WATER

The day of the ceremony it is recommended to eat a healthy breakfast and lunch by 1:30-2:00pm. Maybe a piece of fruit around 4pm. If you want to fast more and eat less, that’s OK too. It’s good to drink a lot of water on the days leading up to the ceremony and then after lunch that day drink as little as possible. A few hours before it is recommended to not drink water at all. Then after the ceremony continue drinking a good amount of water.

THE LIBERATION, FREEDOM

THE «VOMIT» OR RELIEF OF RELEASE OF DIS-EASE IN YAGE

Here when I refer to the release of dis-ease, I am translating the action of what some might call “vomit” or “throwing up” (release of gastric juices). These terms cannot properly convey what is actually happening when we talk about them as related to when we are drinking Yage/Ayahuasca. More commonly we refer to it as “alivio” as it is a relief of a weight or burden, to become lighter, and to improve a condition. In English instead of saying “I got sick” in the healing ceremony, we say “I got well”, looking at it from the stand point of releasing something that we did not need. The wellness or vomit that is produced in a toma of Yage are the results of the expulsion and release of impediments that make it difficult to freely express our beings, these encompass repressed emotions, blockages, false characters or alter egos. It’s to say, we’re releasing what isn’t ours. This form of release doesn’t just happen in any moment, it comes precisely in a moment of comprehension. Getting well produces the action of letting go of the acquired conditioning of the past. It is also charged with a profoundly healing symbolic force, however, the healing is produced by drinking the wisdom of the medicine not by vomiting, that may or may not happen and normally only happens once or twice during the night. It’s a liberating vomit that doesn’t provoke unease like when one is drunk or ill, instead it produces relief and leaves a deep peace. It produces a sweeping out of toxins, that is the consequence of the scanning that the yage conducts throughout the entire body, that are then expelled from the body with force because the Yage is a powerful healer and a purgative on the physical level and purifies the blood. It alleviates adhesions or attachments, the physical consequences of the accumulated emotions in our body, repressed anger, deeply embedded blame, and there are energetic releases that open the whole chakra canal that open the third eye with an increase in vision and opening of the heart. It also cleans the walls of the intestines so the purge also produces defecation that leaves the organism in harmonious balance. It’s important to clarify that the vomiting that is produced is not because the Yage is toxic. This has been scientifically proven by the studies of Dr. Jordi Riba in the clinic of Sant Pau that Yage/Ayahuasca doesn’t contain any toxic elements that harms physical health.

WOMEN'S MOON

INFORMATION

If you are on your moon time (menstruation), we ask you to abstain from the ceremony to rest and honor your own sacred ceremony. I know sometimes for women this can feel disappointing and can bring feelings of being left out. There are multiple reasons why this is requested. The ceremony is a strong healing ceremony with possible intense energies from yourself and others. During our moon time we are open energetically and even more sensitive. We are already in our own natural cleansing as well and don’t need to do double work. Also when we are on our moon we need to be eating and nourishing ourselves not fasting. Many cultures today do not honor this time for women and we are taught to just keep going without paying attention to what our intuition, body, and spirit is saying to us. However, in many other cultures before and now, women have taken the time to give themselves a space for resting, rejuvenating, and listening to all the messages that are intuitively coming to us during this potent time. Sometimes I see this happen that the menstrual time arrives just in time for ceremony because it is giving us an opportunity to really nurture our relationship with our moon time. I know from plenty of my own experiences that sometimes I feel, oh, why couldn’t it have waited, but it is always perfect timing. Other times, I think, thank goodness, I can rest! Our womb and feminine cycle are sacred, and it is a part of the connection we are healing right now at this time on the earth. There will be more opportunities to participate with us so relax and use this time to do something nice for yourself. Whatever feelings arise during this will be important to watch because there will be great understandings that can come from paying attention to those. I hope this helps to clarify this request.
