My name is Aguila, I’m from the direction of the South, from the Colombian Amazon. I want to share a bit of my path. I grew up between Sionas and Cofanes in the Colombian Amazon. First, I grew up in the community of Buena Vista Putumayo where I lived with and learned from elder Taita Laubriano Piaguaje. After that I moved to live in the community of Santa Rosa de Sucumbios to study with Taita Guillermo Lucitante. Now in the present, I am connected to the community of Pisuri Kankhe with Taita Abelino Quenema Queta, who is the only one still living.
For me at this time, it’s a big opportunity to have studied with these great legends of the medicine of Yage (Colombian Ayahuasca) and have their blessing to walk on this beautiful path of healing and spirituality with all of the history, discipline, and respect that I have to walk with this sacred plant.
We have the confidence to share in circle and to drink the medicine that we prepare with a lot of care and effort in the traditional way to receive the natural healing of the medicine of Yage.
I feel a great responsibility to conserve the traditional ceremony and its preparation, stories, and songs so that our generations can continue.
For the vision of our elders, where they speak of the union between cultures and ancestral wisdoms, we walk the vision of the (Condor and Eagle) where we unite in one voice and one prayer for the preservation of the original communities and for the tribe of humanity.
I’m connected to all that is living, for our generation and to the cultural visions of the four directions to take care of the earth, water, air, fire, medicines, sacred instruments, the ocean, the animals, and humanity.
With a lot of gratitude for the support of everyone with whom we have shared and those yet to come on the path, you are all invited to come to the jungle to meet my family. Haho.
